A few days from 25 April It’s disappeared Fulvio Raffonithe partisan from Ravenna ‘Geppetto‘. Born in 1925had joined the Resistence to eighteen years, and then joined the PCI. The funeral will be held on Wednesday 17 April and will leave at 10.30 from the mortuary towards Ponte Nuovo. “We embrace our condolences to his family, to whom he was very close – underlines the Ravenna PD in a note – happy to have seen him so happy even in recent years, when he had the joy of become a great-grandfather.”

Raffoni was a mason and he had founded, physically building it with a group of party comrades, the Fidelio Zambianchi section of the PCI in the Ponte Nuovo district of the Romagna capital, where today there is a section of the Democratic Party. The headquarters of the cell had arisen there ‘United Rivers’ of the Communist Party, later named after the martyr of the Resistance Fidelio Zambianchi. As a partisan he was part of the “flying GAP” of Ravenna, a unit of partisans chosen for particularly risky and difficult operations, employed by the 28th Garibaldi “M. Gordini”, which also included Giuseppe Bondi (Nopi), commander Dino Rondoni (Pablo), Walter Suzzi (Sputafuoco) and from the summer of 1944 Umberto Ricci in place of the latter.

The flying GAPs were groups of selected gappers and charged with carrying out daring operations widespread sabotage and coups, and as told in the PATHS OF MEMORY 1940-1945 of the city of Ravenna, a project for the schools of the capital carried out in 2018, the numerous actions of the flying GAPs, often characterized by shamelessness and mockery, led to a constant climate of insecurity among the Nazi-fascists in the area: attacks on checkpoints, recovery of weapons, execution of hierarchs and executioners.
