If the first team seems to have crossed a stormy sea and to have reached a calm salvation in advance in the Eccellenza championship, the youth sector of Gela Calcio once again this year shows the stripes on the uniform in the various championships played so far. This is certainly thanks to the technical manager of the biancazzurri youth sector, mister Giuseppe Di Natale, who in just a few years has managed first with Gela FC and now with Gela Calcio to put more than one brick in the construction of one of the most important youth clubs in Sicily and a pride for the city of Gela. «It has been an intense and certainly positive year for our youth sector – says Di Natale – a year full of valuable results that go beyond the wildest expectations. In the Allevi Elite championship, thanks to the work of mister Giuseppe Ferrigno, we have confirmed ourselves for next year too. Mister Matteo Barresi’s Experimental Students took first place. Coach Oscar Argetta’s Giovanissimi Regionali obtained the pass to the category playoffs last Saturday. In the Giovanissimi Sperimentali, first place too. Furthermore, the biancazzurra football school confirmed last year’s numbers by raising the level of quality. An enormous and tiring job that saw the commitment of our wonderful staff. Despite the difficulties, we managed to complete four youth sector categories and bring several boys into the first team. Young people who still play as starters in the first team such as Flavio Ferrigno from Gelato, born in 2007. We have made our boys available to the Regional Representatives in the prestigious Regions Tournament. An immense pride. The football school, then, in my opinion is a feather in the cap of this club. At the base I believe we should aim for fun but at the same time we are called, as instructors, to teach the subject of football. I believe that the credit for everything should be attributed to the organization of Flavio Centamore and Massimo Ognisanto but also to the entire management, with the presidents Marco Scerra and Maurizio Melfa at the head, who never let us lack anything. A sincere thank you on behalf of the club goes to all the staff who, despite the official matches having ended, will continue to train our young people, from Oscar Argetta, Filippo Rapicavoli, Matteo Barresi, Emanuele and Giuseppe Ferrigno, Alessandro Messana, Alex Comito and all the collaborators like Pippo D’Agati and Tony D’aleo, mister Ettore Ferrauto, everyone gave their all to achieve these splendid results”.
