Sannio: renewable energy, the new Ivpc challenge starts from Montefalcone

Montefalcone di Val Fortore

The IVPC Group begins a new adventure! Last Friday IVPC Srl, a company of the Group chaired by Oreste Vigoritohas signed the contract with GE Vernova for the turnkey supply of 5 latest generation GE 158-6.1MW wind turbines which will be installed on the Montefalcone site in the Province of Benevento.

This project, which simultaneously involves the deinstallation of 50 old wind turbines from the 1990s, constitutes the first step of the “Repowering” process that IVPC has included in the 2023-2026 industrial plan and which will progressively lead to the replacement of 282 old-concept wind machines with the new fleet of 48 units. In this way, the environmental and landscape impact will be significantly reduced and at the same time the production of clean energy from renewable sources will be increased thanks to the superior energy performance of the new wind turbines.

The Montefalcone wind farm, with a total power of 30.5 MW, will produce over 91 million kWh annually, helping to reduce CO2 reductions in the atmosphere by over 22 thousand tonnes for each year of operation.

GE Vernova will deliver the turbines to the site in May 2025 and the commercial start-up of the plant will take place within the following six months.

Thanks to this important result, the IVPC Group confirms its thirty-year commitment in the wind energy sector for the development of new projects and the modernization of existing plants.
