A delegation from Potere al Popolo and Alternativa Civica Popolare visited the construction sites connecting the sewers of Torre del Greco to the Foce Sarno purifier.

Already in May last year, immediately after the elections, we brought to the attention of the citizens and the administration the age-old question of discharging the Torre del Greco sewers directly into the sea.

We immediately started a debate with the councilor in charge Ramondo who, after an initial availability, no longer provided us with the answers to the questions we asked him about the time needed to remedy the situation.

We therefore contacted Gori directly, entrusted with the water cycle management service in Torre, obtaining an inspection on the construction sites of the collector which will connect the Torrese sewers to the Foce Sarno purifier, finally putting the drains into law after 20 years.

It is certain that a solution of this kind, after 20 years, arrives out of time and that the two purifiers present (S. Giuseppe alle Paludi and Villa Inglese) should have been put back into operation in recent years, even if it would have cost, at least according to Gori and the Municipality represented by the Deputy Mayor Polese, but at least the problem of 20 years of dumping into the sea and pollution of the coast would have been alleviated.

Furthermore, as Power to the People and Popular Civic Alternative, we hope for public management of water, waste and public services as established by the 2011 referendum, but at the moment our short-term objective is to remedy the wastewater situation in Torre del Greco and therefore to ensure that the conveyance works are completed by the established dates of 2025
