There Prosecutor’s Office of Campobasso has registered four people in the register of suspects for the workplace accident that cost Claudio’s life Amodeo53 years old, the worker from Vinchiaturo was burned together with a colleague due to the fire and explosion that occurred last April 4th inside an electrical cabin of the cement plant of the Heidelberg Materialis Italia Cementi di Guardiaregia (Campobasso). Amodeo died after two days of agony, last Saturday, al Major Burns Center of Naples where he had been transported in desperate conditions; the conditions of the other injured man, a 58-year-old hospitalized in Rome, have improved slightly.
The criminal proceedings for the hypothesis of the crime of manslaughter, with the aggravating circumstance of having been committed with the violation of accident prevention regulations, were opened against GC (58 years old), from Rometop figure of the company and director of the Guardiaregia plant, RDR (53), from Salernoproduction manager of the Italcementi group and chemical manager of the factory, GR (53)from Guardiaregia, chief operating technician and manager of the operations room of the cement factory, EMDB (58)from Guardiaregia, maintenance technician and manager of the electrical substation where the accident occurred and who in turn was seriously injured in the accident.
An act, that of the investigating magistrate, is also necessary to allow the suspects to appoint any party consultants for non-repeatable investigations. In fact, following a letter rogatory from the Campobasso Prosecutor’s Office, the prosecutor Silvio Pavia of the Naples Prosecutor’s Office, the city where the worker died, ordered an autopsy on the body to ascertain the causes of death and entrusted the task to the medical examiner Pietro Tarsitano .
The wife, the two children, both minors, the mother and the two brothers of Claudio Amodeo, have entrusted themselves, through the Area Manager for Puglia and Molise Sabino del Benedictis, to Studio3A-Valore Sps, a company specialized in compensation for damages and in the protection of citizens’ rights, “cwho will make every effort – say the lawyers in a note – to give them answers and will also make an electrical engineer available as a consultant for the injured party in the expert operations on the dynamics of the accident, together with the lawyer Fabio Ferrara of the Bari Court”.
Once the examination was completed, the judicial authority issued the authorization for the burial: the funeral will take place tomorrow, Saturday 13 April, at 3pm, in the parish church of Santa Croce in Vinchiaturo.
