Artificial intelligence and its applications in the fields of fashion he was born in luxury is the theme at the center of the next edition of eP SUMMITthe annual event of Pitti Immagine dedicated to the relationship between fashion and the digital world. The 9 and 10 April, startups, potential investors, industry experts and all those who are interested in learning more about these issues are expected in the spaces of the Leopolda station in Florence. Software and hardware solutions to optimize the supply chain, personalize the purchasing experience, promote transparency and sustainability, exploit artificial intelligence and explore the latest frontiers of innovation will be the protagonists of the two-day program curated by the scientific director of ‘event, Rinaldo Rinaldi, professor of the Department of Industrial Engineering at the University of Florence, who has been working on the relationship between brands and ICT for many years. The startups and companies of eP SUMMIT

Some of these have been selected by a scientific committee for Innovation Call, dedicated to the new generations of digital entrepreneurs. Now in its second edition, the Innovation Call offers the 8 Fashion Tech Startups the opportunity to present their innovative solutions – from virtual fitting to chatbots, from NFTs to rental or reuse platforms for waste – to the public of eP Summit and compete for the prize”eP Summit Innovation Award”, which offers 5,000 euros as a prize. UniCredit Start Lab

UniCredit’s call, open until April 17th, is dedicated to innovative startups and SMEs with high technological content. This year too, it will select around 50 Italian entrepreneurial projects. The objective is to support selected innovative companies by encouraging the creation of connections with corporates and investors and offering targeted technical support, through managerial training and mentorship programmes. Among the new features, the 2024 edition will involve 6 Corporate Partners: Barilla, Cisco, Fincantieri, Granarolo, Iren and Jakala, who will identify one or more startups among the finalists to offer various collaboration opportunities. At the same time, thanks to the partnership with ICE, a group of innovative companies selected by Start Lab will have the opportunity to participate in the “Global Start Up Program” initiative and strengthen their internationalization path, spanning Europe, the United States and Asia. This year too there will be 5 reference sectors for UniCredit Start Lab:

  • Clean Tech: energy efficiency, renewable energy, waste treatment, sustainable mobility and smart cities;
  • Innovative Made in Italy: agrifood, fashion, design, tourism, mechanics, robotics, nanotechnologies and Industry 4.0;
  • Digital: mobile apps, internet of things, B2B services and platforms, cloud systems, hardware and artificial intelligence;
  • Life Sciences: biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, digital health care and assistive technologies;
  • Impact Innovation: projects that cut across other segments but with solutions with a positive impact in terms of sustainability.

The 10 startups selected for each of the 5 categories will be able to access the Start Lab platform which includes:

  • participation in systematic business and investment matching activities with industrial and financial counterparts in the UniCredit network;
  • Corporate Partnership with large companies, which will make themselves available to the best startups with the launch of a pilot project, with their own mentors and facilities, as well as with any direct investments;
  • Advanced managerial training, through the Startup Academy and thematic workshops;
  • A personalized mentorship program with professionals and experts from the innovation ecosystem;
  • The assignment of a UniCredit manager dedicated to supporting growth;
  • The possibility of collaborations and partnerships with UniCredit.

Furthermore, the first place in each category will win an award 10,000 euros.
