Zalone set a record, with 27 million, best opening of a Christmas film

«Buen Camino» drives the cinema market which grows by 257% over the last weekend

Checco Zalone’s triumphal march continues with «Buen Camino». The film confirms its record for the Christmas holidays: in its first 4 days of screening in cinemas it reached 27 million euros (26,921,300 euros), with an average of 34,847 euros in 771 cinemas, 3,316,838 spectators and a market share of 71.4%. An absolute record for the comedy with Checco Zalone directed by Gennaro Nunziante in theaters from Thursday 25 December: This is the best opening ever for a Christmas movie. The film distributed by Medusa Film drives the cinema market which, according to Cinetel data, grows by 257% compared to last weekend and by 87.17% compared to the same weekend in 2024.

Behind it, «Avatar: Fire and Ashes» with 5.4 million euros and 571,454 admissions and «Nuremberg» with a taking of 1.6 million euros and 203,334 admissions in theaters. Zalone’s film is already climbing the ranking of the most watched titles of all time in Italy, in which iThe Apulian comedian has four of his films in the top ten: «Where am I going?» (2016) is second with a total taking of 65,365,676 euros, «Sole a catinelle» (2013) is third with 51,936,318 euros, «Tolo Tolo» (2020) sixth with 46,201,300 and «Che bella giorno» (2011) eighth with 43,474,047. First in the ranking, «Avatar», from 2009, with 68,675,722 euros.
