The disservice at the motorway toll booth that drove millions of Italians crazy: you risk a very high fine, but it could also be worse.
This situation will have happened to everyone, at least once in their life unpleasant: you have entered highway and, after having traveled a more or less long distance, you stop at the toll booth to pay the toll but, after entering the ticketfind out that it isn’t readable. Result? Very long queues and, above all, the possibility of potentially receiving a fine which could also be very high.
This disservice, which has been reported by hundreds of users on the web, with videos that have gone viral, it has literally infuriated so many people who have had to deal with this enormous problem which, as is also normal, really has nothing to do with the driver himself. What, then, is the reason why the ticket through which to pay the toll is no longer there readable suddenly?
It’s difficult to say exactly, since it could depend on so many factors, but some video they showed something truly unexpected that left everyone speechless and which, above all, demonstrates, if proof were still needed, how easy and probable it really is for these tickets to be illegible in times of need.
Highway toll, if you do this you can’t pay
In many videos, in fact, you can see how it is enough to simply pass a very small magnet over an extremely small portion of the ticket to make the latter substantially illegible from the machine. Furthermore, a non-marginal factor, if they are exposed to the sun’s rays for a prolonged period of time, such as a journey lasting many hours in which the latter is placed on the dashboard in direct contact with the rays, the risk of it being such is really very high.
So what’s at risk? Nothing at the moment, since a replacement certificate will be delivered in which it will be possible to pay. However, in the event that, for a thousand different reasons, you are unable to pay the toll amount by 7 days from its issue, the fine will be very heavy: you will, in fact, have to pay the entire journey, from start to finish, even if perhaps you have only traveled a small part of it.
