On July 14, 2023 the editorial staff of Facta.news received a report via WhatsApp asking to verify a post on Facebook. In the post in question you see a label containing a logo with a drawing of a frog and the words “Rainforest Alliance Certified”.
A text titled “Danger!!!!!” also appears in the image. The frog logo on food». According to the reported message, Bill Gates would have “admitted that in the future those who have not received the injection will be vaccinated through food”. The text goes on to state that «suddenly, a large amount of food bears the seal of the frog, called the Rainforced Alliance». This seal “should be synonymous with sustainable products” while instead “insiders report that these foods contain parts of insects and mRNA vaccines”, it continues.
This is misleading content, which conveys false news.
First of all, the seal with the drawing of a frog and the words “Rainforest Alliance Certified” is real and was created by the Rainforest Alliance, an international non-profit organization that works for the environmental protection of forests. The purpose of the seal is to indicate that the certified product or ingredient was made using methods that support social, economic and environmental sustainability. The organization also explained that it chose the red-eyed tree frog as its mascot more than 30 years ago because “frogs are what scientists call bioindicators, in the sense that a healthy population of frogs indicates a healthy environment”.
There is no factual evidence or news that the symbol indicates products containing parts of insects and mRna vaccines, as erroneously written in the post under analysis. To date, there are no foods containing mRna vaccines. This unfounded theory fits into the misinformation narratives about mRna anti-Covid vaccines and the use of insects in food.
Finally, the news that Bill Gates, Microsoft co-founder, entrepreneur and philanthropist, admitted that in the future people would be vaccinated through food is also without any foundation.
