In case of a positive outcome, based on the percentage of disability granted, the need for a review visit after a certain period of time can be established. In general, is arranged for pathologies that are susceptible to modification over time or for patients in developmental or adolescent age.

The review, therefore, serves to establish whether the requirements remain to continue to benefit from the benefits linked to disability. There are, however, some pathologies that cannot improve and that do not require any review visit. Let’s see what diseases these are.

Review visit for civilian invalids: when are you exempt?

Some pathologies suffered by disabled civilians do not require a review visit because they are, by nature, degenerative or because they remain stable without the possibility of improvement.

In some cases you are exempt from the review visit (immezcla.it)

In this regard, the Decree of the Ministries of Economy and Health published in the Official Journal on 14 April 2022he predicted the exclusion of revision for motor neuron diseasessuch as amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, spinal muscular atrophy, primary lateral sclerosis, and progressive bulbar paralysis.

To prevent those affected by these pathologies from suffering further physical and psychological discomfort, they are exempted from both the review visit and further health checks following the recognition of civil disability.

In addition to motor neuron diseases, there are other disorders for which exemption is provided, listed in Ministerial Decree of 2 August 2007. Among them are:

  • respiratory failure under constant oxygen therapy or mechanical ventilation;
  • heart failure refractory to specific therapies;
  • loss of kidney function resulting in dialysis treatment (non-transplantable);
  • anatomical or functional loss of the upper or lower limbs;
  • impairments of the osteo-articular system that cannot improve;
  • liver diseases with impairment of the central or peripheral nervous system;
  • oncological pathologies with consequent impairment of organs or systems;
  • neurological diseases or syndromes (such as nerve damage) that cause significant deficits (for example, deafness or blindness);
  • congenital genetic or chromosomal pathologies;
  • mental pathologies of developmental age with neuropsychic deficits;
  • blindness;
  • deafness.

In all these hypotheses, the disability is considered permanent and the related concessions and benefits granted cannot be revoked. Consequently, if you still receive the communication from INPS for the review visit, it is possible to lodge an objection.
