LECCO – The collection of signatures for the campaign continues “Lombardy Safe” promoted by associations, labor unions And political parties. The initiative aims to give a voice to Lombardy citizens on the topic of healthcare to block the rush to privatization and guarantee the right to public health, free And universal.

On the afternoon of Wednesday 3 April the CGIL Lecco and the related categories of Filter (Italian Federation of Transport Workers), of Fp (Public Function) and of Spy (Pensioners Union) organized a banquet at the Filt Cgil headquarters at Lecco station.

“Even on this occasion, as already seen from the banquets organized in recent weeks and from the meetings held daily in the workplace, the people reached showed themselves very interested in the topic and wanted to give their contribution by signing the application forms collection – explain the unions -. From March 1st, the start date of the signature collection, to today Cgil Lecco collected over 400 paper signaturesa number that must be added to those collected by the other promoters of the campaign and to those collected online through the change.org platform.

Diego Riva, General Secretary of the CGIL Lecco underlined how “for some time the union, in alliance with other subjects sensitive to the issue, has been mobilizing with initiatives in the workplace and in the streets to reverse the trend towards privatization and unequal access to health services in Lombardy. The right to treatment and the relaunch of the National Health System will also be among the themes at the center of the general strike on Thursday 11 April and the great national demonstration of Saturday 20 April in Rome (in both cases together with Uil), against the wrong choices of a Government that cut investments in healthcare, does not renew public contracts e fuels precariousness”.
