Cholesterol, be careful: here’s what not to eat

Considered as one of the “problems” that began to spread worldwide in the twentieth century, in reality high cholesterol identifies a real disease condition known long before which has very different bases and “reasons” as it is not linked to a “single” condition and “final” source but can lead to a series of problems which can in turn cause very serious health problems. Always when we read or hear the word “cholesterol” we tend to identify it with food and therefore we need to consider some sacrifices but not necessarily completely, as those who have high cholesterol problems would do well not to eat different types of foods, but what is not indicated?

These are various categories of food products, often the “unnatural” ones end up on the “Black List” in question.

But what exactly does it mean to “give up” food to eat if our cholesterol levels are too high?

If you have high cholesterol, here’s what you should never eat

The calculation of total cholesterol takes shape in the levels of “good” and “bad”, both of which in reality tend to be considered useful without either prevailing over the other. Cholesterol is in fact something that should not conceptually be seen as an “enemy” but a value to be regularized through periodic checks, in particular values below 150 mg/dl are considered normal, while a constant condition identifies an excess of the “bad” variant , which in this case tends to deposit in the blood system, forming obstructions known as atherosclerotic plaques. These obstruct the passage of blood and can cause even serious problems.

But what to eat? Food is important but it still only partially influences this value but in the right way, the diet can certainly do a lot as some foods can reduce it but others do the opposite.

In general, any highly processed product such as red meat, but also sausages, cheeses, but also various derivatives such as condiments of animal origin, such as butter and lard, but also in general any product packaged and processed in an excessively refined manner tends to develop bad eating habits that impact bad cholesterol. Too high a calorie intake as well as a diet rich in carbohydrates and sugars also has a negative impact.

However, this is also caused by unhealthy habits such as poor physical activity, but also the consumption of alcohol and smoking in significant quantities.

Cholesterol levels that are not too high are generally “controllable” by a diet that is not unbalanced in any sense.
