In February 2024 theseasonally adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 3.9% compared to January. According to Istat, on average for the quarter December 2023 – February 2024, production in construction increases by 3.6% compared to the previous quarter.
On base trendthe raw index recorded an increase of 10.2%, while the index adjusted for calendar effects grew by 5.9% (there were 21 calendar working days compared to 20 in February 2023).
In the average of the first two months of 2024the raw index increases by 13.6%, while the index adjusted for calendar effects grows by 9.4%.
“In February 2024 – is the comment from Istat – the seasonally adjusted index of production in construction recorded a decline compared to the previous month, after four consecutive increases. Despite this, production levels remain high and on the average of the last three months the growth remains robust. Even in the series corrected for calendar effects, trend growth remains sustained, albeit with a marked slowdown compared to previous periods”.
