While the entire television world wonders about his professional future, Amadeus announces his next commitment in Rai1 prime time on Instagram: the hosting of the concert-event against violence against women ‘Una Quale Centomila in Arena’, which will be staged in Verona on 4 and 5 May and will then be broadcast on Rai1 in a single evening. In the promo video published by Amadeus the broadcast date is not revealed but, as far as Adnkronos has learned, ‘Una Quale Centomila in Arena’ will be broadcast on the Rai flagship network on Wednesday 8 May. The proceeds from the tickets for the two live shows in Verona will largely go towards supporting anti-violence centres.
In Amadeus’ Instagram story they come many of the artists already confirmed for the event were also revealed: in addition to Fiorella Mannoia, who is the honorary president of the Una Quale Centomila Foundation, there will be Mahmood, Emma, Samuele Bersani, Annalisa, Tananai, Francesca Michielin, Alessandra Amoroso, Ornella Vanoni, Giuliano Sangiorgi, Big Mama, Fabrizio Moro, Paola Turci , Ermal Meta, Piero Pelù, Brunori Sas, Noemi, Niccolò Fabi, Achille Lauro and Elodie.
Meanwhile rumors continue to circulate of an imminent announcement by the host, whose contract with Rai expires on August 31st. In the meeting he had last Tuesday with Rai CEO Roberto Sergio, Amadeus would have taken a few more days to communicate a definitive decision on his future. A decision which according to persistent rumors could lead him to land on the ‘generalist’ network of the Warner Bros Discovery Group, namely channel Nine. Insistent rumors also speak of a possible ‘move’ to the Nove, together with the host, of the ‘I Soliti Ignoti’ format, given that the Rai licensing contract would also be expiring. The placement in access prime time, as a first port of call, would undoubtedly be the most sensible for the presenter who has accompanied the audience in the 8.30-9.20pm slot for many years, albeit from the Rai flagship screens.
But, according to what Adnkronos has learned, there is also being studied for him in the Warner Bros Discovery group possibility of entrusting Amadeus with the artistic direction of a major musical event, with which the host and artistic director of the last five editions of Sanremo can collect the legacy of that experience, accompanied by records of ratings and music sales. Rai’s offer for the contract renewal would also have been reformulated after Amadeus’ ‘no’ to the helm of Sanremo 2025.
