Watch out for the letter, all the owners are receiving it: over 270,000 hybrid cars involved, they have a problem.
The safety is a central theme in the video industry enginesand the companies make sure to guarantee their customers great quality from a reliability point of view with continuous tests both during the development phase and afterwards to ensure the perfect functioning of the car. The process of creating a car, however, is particularly complex and includes many different realities, just think of the suppliers who create the various components of the car on behalf of companies which will then be assembled. In such a complex supply chain, it can happen, therefore, that something escapes the attentive eye, and that a car with a manufacturing defect ends up in the hands of the customer.
It is often the customer to report the problem to the company, other times it is the company itself which realizes the problem from internal tests malfunction. In any case, companies routinely send customers who own models that may belong to defective batches a communication inviting them to take the vehicles to the dealer for an analysis, and in the event of a problem detected, to replace the component.
Ford recalls the model
All the great giants, sooner or later, have found themselves in similar situations: this time it happened to Ford having to deal with a similar situation. The US company called back over 270,000 cars electric and hybrid, and from February 2026 owners will receive notification letters. The recall is aimed specifically at the US market, and concerns the F-150 Lightning electric pickup produced from 2022 to 2026, the Mustang Mach-E crossover produced from 2024 to 2026 and the Maverick pickup from 2025 to 2026.
The campaign, identified with the number 25C69 by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), was reportedly launched due to a defect in the integrated parking module. The park mode could in fact not engage correctly, leading the vehicle to move on its own accidentally, with the risk of an accident (at the moment no accidents have been reported, but the company rightly does not intend to take any risks). Owners of the cars in question will therefore have to take the model to authorized dealers to install the corrective software update prepared by Ford to resolve the problem, while a definitive solution should then be brought to resolve the problem.
