Anger never makes you make wise decisions. Blinded by the feeling of revenge, the owner of a Lamborghini he combined an “omelette” with the dearest racing car. The man, a Brazilian entrepreneur, saw his “little girl” shatter into a thousand pieces after trying to put in desperate pursuit of the thief who had just stolen a 36,000 euro Rolex from him. Since he often gets wet, he will now have a much higher sum to spend, skyrocketing due to his excessive frenzy to catch the criminal. Victim of his own emotions, the driver will now have to decide what to do with the Italian racing car. Only an accurate estimate will allow him to understand whether it is worth it or not.

Capitalized distraction

The episode dates back to May 18th. What was supposed to be a relaxing Saturday took on unfortunate contours in the case of a 64-year-old. Perhaps returning from a chaotic work week, plagued by a thousand commitments, he hoped to enjoy the weekend in peace. Too bad for him, while he was waiting for the “green light” from the traffic lights, aboard his green Lamborghini Huracan, an “unwelcome guest” set a trap for him.

A “rascal” on a motorbike, to use an archaic term (even if, we bet, he used a very different expletive…) took advantage of a moment of distraction, taking the watch off his wrist and running away. We know that in our cars we tend to do our worst: the stress we experience makes us immediately lose patience. A denied right of way or a slow-paced driver is enough to provoke us. Now take everything and elevate it to the nth degree. With nerves on edge, the sixty-four-year-old set off to chase the motorcyclist.

Both were going at breakneck speed along the streets of São Paulo, but within a few hundred meters and the supercar has hit the nail on the head on two wheels. Having ended up against a light pole, the thief, who suffered minor injuries, managed to get back on his feet in record time and escape, leaving his cell phone and an old revolver on the spot. Already with a criminal record, he was in a state of semi-freedom and the vehicle in which he was riding, also destroyed, was registered to his mother. In short, the incident cost both parties dearly. It is not known whether the police managed to catch him or not; however, the media attention overwhelmed the driver of the Lamborghini Huracan (sold in Italy for at least 200,000 euros). According to the latter’s thesis, he hit the thief accidentally, on the other hand, some people find it hard to believe him.

Outcry in Brazil

In the South American country and on social media the story has attracted quite a stir. Many have pointed the finger at the entrepreneur due to his disorganized and reckless reaction, but then, however, there are those who take his side, as they are intrepid enough behind the wheel to try to recover the beloved Rolex. According to reconstructions, no one was hurt, but it could have been much worse. Regardless of personal opinions, the incident reminds us once again of the dangers of crime and the madness that the lust for money can unleash. Nothing justifies putting one’s own safety and that of others at risk, not even a luxurious Rolex.
