The State Council considered the accusations made by the Court to be entirely illegitimateAGCM to the company Eni and accepted the appeal of the latter company, canceling the sanction 5 million euros previously declared. The dispute lasted a long time 4 years and now it finally seems that the long-awaited end has been reached.
The dispute was about the environmental benefits of the mixture HVOhydrogenated biofuel, present in Diesel referring to the “component green of the product”. L’AGCMIn the 2020argued that the company brought the greenwashing of the product. The ruling of the Council of State completely overturned this thesis, recognizing that the accusations were baseless and that Eni had not acted unfairly towards consumers, as claimed. The decision made showcases the importance of correct evaluation of practices commercial and confirms Eni’s honesty and integrity in its commitment.
Eni’s Diesel+ is truly Green
The State Council furthermore specified the legitimacy of the use of the term “green” also associated with products that are not naturally free of environmental impact. This means that, while recognizing that diesel is indeed a polluting fuel
the authorities have that Eni’s Diesel+, via his part HVOhas a lower impact on the environment compared to other fuels and therefore “green”.
Eni has always stood firm on its statements, showing a series of scientific evidence that substantiated its statements. You believed, from the beginning, that the Diesel+ is “green” for the component of HVO, also highlighting the company’s contribution to reducing polluting emissions. The final recognition by the State Council confirms the veracity of the company’s statements and denies the accusations of “greenwashing” of theAGCM.
This ruling not only resolves the legal dispute, but at the same time confirms Eni’s commitment to environmental sustainability. The company will be able to safely continue to distribute its biofuels, doing its part in the fight against high harmful emissions and trying to push towards a cleaner future.
