As always happens during holidays and long weekends, there is no general rule for openings of supermarkets and shopping centers on public holidays. This year too, there are supermarkets open on April 25th, Liberation Day from Nazi-Fascism, but some remain closed or follow a half-way solution, i.e. reduced opening hours.
Pay attention to the timetables for the following days too, because Friday 26th April is indeed a weekday, but it is part of a bridge which for many Italians is even 7 days long, up to and including Wednesday 1st May, Labor Day.

Supermarkets long S in many cases they remain open on April 25th, but with notable exceptions, while they are all closed on May 1st for Labor Day.

The Esselunga of Turin Porta Nuova is also open from 8am to 8pm, while it is closed on 1st May. In Genoa, the Esselunga in Via di Francia is open from 8am to 8pm on April 25th while it is closed on May 1st.

Coop
Even supermarkets Coop scattered throughout Italy they follow different times, both for April 25th and May 1st. For example, in Milan the Ipercoop in Piazza Lodi is open all day from 8.30am to 8.30pm, while it is closed on May 1st. In Turin the Coop in Corso Belgio opens on April 25th with reduced hours from 9am to 12.30pm. In Bologna, the DeGusto Coop Mercato di Mezzo supermarket is closed on both April 25th and May 1st.
It is often difficult to find your way on the Coop website because the list of opening times for the various stores is not always up to date, so it is best to make a phone call to the supermarket you are interested in.
Conad

From North to South, Conad markets are largely open throughout Italy, in some cases with reduced hours, at least to guarantee access to fresh products and special offers on this special day.

The Roma Urbana supermarket, for example, follows an extraordinary opening for the day in which the Resistance against Nazi-fascism is celebrated from 9am to 9pm, the same goes for the store in Via Taranto. In Milan, in Corso di Porta Romana, extraordinary opening 9am-9pm, same as Milan 8th November. Also in Turin via XX Settembre same time for Liberation Day. Closed instead in Naples Fiumicello, the same goes for the shop in via Cilea.
Lidl
Lidl in many cases it is also open on Liberation Day. On the site you can search for the branch you are interested in to view the opening hours also for public holidays, even if the indication is not always clear, given that reference is often made to generic opening hours throughout the week and it is not clear whether they refer or less than April 25th.

Also Carrefour in many cases it is open, but even in this case the site is not very updated on the details of the opening times in the various supermarkets.

Crai It also does not provide specific information regarding the openings on April 25th, not even by searching for the point of sale on the site, but many stores remain open. Pay attention to the times, which may vary from normal days.

In Bari via di Maratona, for example, supermarket open 8.30-13.30 and 16.30-20.30, in Bergamo opening with reduced hours 8.30-13, in Catania Corso Sicilia 8-14 and 16-19.30, in Genoa Corso Europa reduced hours 9-13 . For example, the Aldi in Milan via Galvani on April 25th and May 1st remains open on Sundays, i.e. 9am-8pm, the same applies in Turin at the store in via Borgaro. Ditto the Aldi in Treviso, which however closes 1 hour earlier, at 7pm. The one in Bologna operates from 8am to 9pm.
