90 million euro contract in the United States

New million-dollar order for Turboden, a Brescia-based company (headquarters in Via Cernaia, in the city) global leader in organic Rankine cycle Orc systems and part of the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries group: in a note the company announces “proudly a collaboration revolutionary with Fervo Energy, pioneer in Egs (Enhanced Geothermal System) geothermal systems, ready to revolutionize the production of carbon free energy 24/7 together and to lead the future of innovation in geothermal energy”.

Turboden will actively participate in the construction of Fervo Energy’s Cape Station project, in southwestern Utah, United States: the plant will have a total capacity of approximately 400 MWe. Building on its expertise in ORC technology, Turboden will design and supply the power plants for the initial (90 MWe) phase of the project: the installation of three generators with 6 ORC turbines is planned. The total value of the operation is estimated at more than 90 million euros.

A new branch in the States?

“Fervo Energy’s commitment to the advancement of geothermal energy – comments Paolo Bertuzzi, CEO and general director of Turboden – integrates perfectly with Turboden’s mission to drive innovation in sustainable energy. Together we are paving the way towards a cleaner, greener future. The success of this project, in addition to other initiatives in North America, prompted Turboden to consider opening an office in the United States. This strategic move will allow us to leverage the support of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries America, further enhancing our presence in the region.”
