Xiaomi, the cheapest electric car arrives
A growth of 15% on the Hang Seng for Xiaomi, on Tuesday 2 April, when the Chinese smartphone manufacturer launched the market its first electric vehicle SU7. Xiaomi’s website shows waiting times of at least five months to have the basic version of the new SU7. Despite this, however, at the moment it seems that many cars have already been booked: in the first 27 minutes from the start of sales, 50 thousand orders arrived.
The Chinese startups Nio and Xpeng have announced subsidies of 2800 dollars and 1400 dollars for the purchase of these cars: this promotion is part of the strategy of the Chinese government regarding the reduction of polluting vehicles, in favor of increasingly eco-compatible models.
