Wednesday 3 July at 9:30 pm at the Vespa Club Romagna headquarters, in Fosso Ghiaia, in via Romea Sud 410, presentation of the books by journalist and writer Paola Scarsi “La prima Vespa non si scorda mai: emozioni e ricordi con la mitica due ruote dalla viva voce dei personaggi” and “La Vespa Non Si Scorda Mai – Unforgettable Vespa” (in Italian and English). Both are published by Erga editions and are multi-sensory: by framing the numerous VCodes present in their pages with the free App Vesepia you can access the photo galleries and videos that accompany each story.

In “You’ll Never Forget Your First Vespa: Emotions and Memories with the Legendary Two Wheels, Live Voices from the Protagonists” are collected the memories of many great travellers (from Fabio Cofferati to Giorgio Caeran), actors (Alessio Boni), pilots (Loris Capirossi), artists (Marco Lodola), collectors, writers, and simple enthusiasts: some have gone to the North Cape on a Vespa, others have gone around the world on one, some have given it their first kiss and others have taken it on their honeymoon, some have used it as an artistic subject and others have dedicated a song to it.

The book has a preface by the President of the Vespa Club d’Italia Roberto Leardi and the President of the Piaggio Foundation Riccardo Costagliola who called it “a wonderful fresco”. It was created in collaboration with the Piaggio Foundation in whose Museum it was presented in September.

On the cover, the historic advertising poster of the elephant on a Vespa that the author’s father drew in the 60s.

“La Vespa Non Si Scorda Mai – Unforgettable Vespa” is co-written with Eugenio Leone, coordinator of the organization of Vespa World Days 2024 and tells, through unpublished and unexpected testimonies, what the feeling is towards the Vespa abroad. Eugenio presents some Italians who over the years have made the Vespa famous in the world, making its robustness and reliability known or founding important Vespa clubs, while Paola Scarsi outlines the life, experiences and adventures of many foreigners (presidents of Vespa Clubs, travellers, restorers).

The book was presented at VWD2024 together with some of the book’s protagonists, including Jean-Charles Caradonna (president of the “Cercle Vespiste de France” and journalist of “La Vie de La Moto”), Paolo Daniele (president of the Belgian Vespa Club ATH), Gianfranco Gemmi (Vespa test rider for decades) and Masoud Parvarech (president of the Vespa Club Iran).
