Gino Cecchettin presents the book in Porto Torres and Valledoria

Gino Cecchettin will be in Sardinia to present “Cara Giulia”, written with Marco Franzoso and published by Rizzoli, on 7, 8 and 9 July as part of the Éntula festival. On Sunday 7th he will be in Porto Torres with Gianni Garrucciu, on Monday 8th in Valledoria with Lorena Piras and on Tuesday 9th in Fordongianus with Luisanna Porcu. Cecchettin gave voice to his daughter Giulia in the book “Cara Giulia”, written with Marco Franzoso, to raise public awareness of gender violence and provide support to those who are victims of it, also through the Giulia Foundation of which he promoted the creation . A testimony and a desire to actively contribute to building “an alliance between the sexes, rather than consolidating the abuse of one over the other”, which also passes through meetings with the public, such as those in which Cecchettin will participate in the second week of July.

After participating in the L’Isola delle Storie festival in Gavoi on Saturday 6 July, the first meeting with the author for Éntula will be held on Sunday 7 at 7pm in the Comita Atrium of the Basilica of San Gavino in Porto Torres. Gianni Garrucciu will talk to Cecchettin and talk about the daughter he draws, dreams of living on a moor, collects boxes and gives the sweetest smiles. Then one evening she disappears, engulfed by an absurd death: a femicide. Overwhelmed by the most atrocious pain that a father can endure, Gino Cecchettin chooses not to remain silent, he questions himself on the most brutal results of a patriarchal culture that still concerns us and finds the words to remember who Giulia was and what he learned from her. In this long letter written together with Marco Franzoso, Gino retraces his story as a father, the days of joy and those of pain. He urges us to listen to the young men and women of our country and help them combat all forms of gender violence, together. The Éntula festival is organized by the Lìberos cultural association with the contribution of the Autonomous Region of Sardinia – Department of public education, cultural heritage, information, entertainment and sport and the Sardinia Foundation.
