“If Colapesce got tired”, the presentation of Alan David Scifo’s book in Fontanelle

The new book by journalist Alan David Scifo entitled “If Colapesce si tired” (Navarra Editore) will be presented on Friday 24 May at 6pm, in the Rosario Livatino square in Fontanelle.

The meeting with the author will be moderated by the journalist Mauro Indelicato. Greetings from Emanuele Montalbano, president of “Fontanelle Insieme”. Speakers will be Mimmo Bruno, president of Conalpa of Agrigento and the lawyer Giuseppe Scozzari.

It is an investigative journey into the most polluted Sicily that tells the faces and stories of the many “Colapesce” who try to fight against the pollution of the petrochemical centers of the island, against the power that seeks money at the expense of health, in the territories destroyed by “progress” which instead brought death and disease. The book starts from the legend of Colapesce, the mythological being who supposedly supports one of the columns that holds up Sicily.

Now he too finds himself fighting against the pollution of the island and must fight against that man for whom he had decided to sacrifice himself: from the plastic dunes of Acate to the petrochemical centers of Gela, Milazzo and Augusta, ending in Lampedusa and in the factories that were never reclaimed, “If Colapesce got tired” is a journey that seeks to recruit new champions who want to help the mythological hero support Sicily so that it does not sink permanently.
