The Military Competition Academy of Avellino is pleased to announce that the fourth meeting of the literary review “Libri in Accademia” will take place on Friday 24 May 2024, at 6.00 pm.

The formula

One appointment a month with literature at the ACM headquarters in Avellino, in via Capozzi, 28, in front of the entrance to the ASL AV2. The cycle of presentations concerns novels and essays whose protagonists or themes are law enforcement and military forces. A world to discover between detective stories, investigative thrillers, adventures, but also history and insights. From time to time, journalists and experts on the topics covered take turns conducting, who dialogue with the author, accompanied by the reading of some passages.​

The fourth appointment

Friday 24 May 2024, at 6.00 pm, is the turn of Gianluca Amatucci’s book Lettere dal Fronte. Humanity in the trenches (Il Terebinto editions). The general of division (aus) Attilio Claudio Borreca reported on the volume. The journalist and artistic director of the event Eleonora Davide will dialogue with the author. Paolo De Vito will participate, with the reading of some poetic passages, and Patrizia Girardi with her musical notes.

The event, organized by the Davide Totaro Military Competition Academy, is supported by: National Infantryman’s Association, Italian Tank Drivers’ Association, Italian Sailors’ Association, National Federation of Fighters and Veterans, National Union of Officers on Leave of Italy, WWWITALY, Irpinia in the Library.

The book

“Letters from the front. Humanity in the Trenches” by Gianluca Amatucci offers an authentic look at the realities of war through the words of those who lived it. The author

Born in 1971, Gianluca Amatucci lives and works in Avellino as a journalist. After graduating he embarked on a military career, passing the 148th AUC course in Cesano di Roma and serving as a second lieutenant in Trento until 1994. He collaborated with various television stations and newspapers in Campania. He is vice president of the National Infantryman Association – Avellino.
