The “Books at the Cinema” exhibition at the Costigliole municipal cinema theater is cloaked in even more mystery. On Friday evening the mystery will be enriched with the element of the supernatural through the film on the program and the characters of the guest writer’s novels. The formula is the one tested and appreciated by the public of the first two events of the original review that the Municipality wanted to dedicate to the detective genre. At 8.45pm in the lounge on the stage of the municipal cinema theater the interview of Filippo Romagnolo, president of the Costigliole Cultura association, with the Costigliolese writer Fabrizio Borgio, “father” of the special agent Stefano Drago and the private investigator Giorgio Martinengo. But his latest novel “Green Stone” is part of the spy story. Nero Libia”, published in the Segretissimo Mondadori series. Among Borgio’s characters, Drago is a special agent of the Dip, the imaginary Paranormal Investigations Department: Drago’s horror stories have their roots in the folklore of our land, «folk horror where the territory becomes an incubator for monsters».

The evening will continue with the presentation by Riccardo Santagati, journalist, writer and detective story expert, of the film, offering curiosities and anecdotes: on the big screen “The Fury of the Baskervilles” (1959), based on the novel “The Hound of the Baskervilles” by Arthur Conan Doyle and in homage to the most famous detective, Sherlock Holmes. A curse seems to weigh on the descendants of the noble Baskerville family, persecuted by an evil mug that roams the Dartmoor moors. At the beginning it will be the faithful Watson who starts the investigation: perhaps the truth has more to do with men than with the ghosts of hell?

“Books at the Cinema”, with free admission with the possibility of offering for humanitarian projects, will continue on Friday 3 May, with the film “Ten Little Indians” based on the novel by Agatha Christie and guest journalist and writer from Costigliole Marta Martiner Testa with her novel “Giulia of via dei Tigli”.
