three days of books, films and games

Forlì, 23 April 2024 – ForlIt is ready to transform into a fantasy capital. Magical creatures and enchanted worlds will be the ingredients of the ‘Infinite Stories festival’ which will be held from tomorrow to April 26th at the Candle Factory. The event will be dedicated to the fantasy genre: science fiction, horror and weird. Not only that, there are also numerous moments dedicated to different expressive languages: dialogues with writers and film screenings; exhibition stands of independent publishing houses; board game sessions.

“We have organized – underlines Lorenzo Crescentini, artistic director (in the photo with Emanuela Valenti) –, for Thursday and Friday at 2pm also a ‘pitch moment’: a session where emerging authors can present their stories to publishing houses; it will be enough to bring a chapter and a short synopsis”.

The festival provides a rich program of events, starting tomorrow, from 10am to 9pm, with the presentation of the comic ‘Moon, the dark world’ by Paolo Orsini in the theater room and two film screenings: at 11.30am, in the orange room, with ‘L ‘last man on earth’ by Ubaldo Ragona and at 1.30 pm ‘Night of the living dead’ by George Romero. From 2pm the Matricegiochi collective will animate some gaming sessions and at 3pm, the writer Stefano Frigieri will talk with Miller Gorini about the collection of horror stories ‘Wunderkammer’. At 4pm, there will be a presentation of the book, ‘Stars and Brass – The hidden society’, with the author Jude Archer.

Let’s continue at 5pm, with Claudio Vergagni who will tell the adventures of the two vampire slayers protagonists of his novels. At 6pm in the theater room, there will be a presentation of the magazine ‘The Reader of Fantasy’ and at 6.40pm the screening of the film ‘Plan 9 from outer space’ by Edward Wood Jr. The day ends at 7pm with the presentation of the illustrated book ‘ Binoculars of sugar and salt’ by Antonella De Nisco and at 9pm with the vision of ‘Monkey boy’ by Antonio Monti.

Among the events scheduled for Thursday: at 10 am the presentation of the prototype of the role-playing game, ‘Uncensored’, created by the students of the 2Q of the scientific high school, winners of the ‘I don’t turn around’ competition. At 6pm, the meeting ‘Can we trust our memories?’ with the authors, Leonardo Petrignani and Pierangelo Garzia. For Friday, however, worth mentioning: at 3pm in the theater room, the copy signing of the writer Ellie B. Luin and at 6pm, appointment with Luca Briasco who talks about the works of Stephen King. The event is organized by the Storie Infinite association, with the collaboration of Compagnia Bella and the patronage of the Municipality of Forlì. “The administration – explains Valerio Melandri, councilor for culture – wanted to support this first edition with a small budget and by making the spaces of the Candle Factory available. The aim of the initiative is to valorise the many fantasy authors from Forlì. If there will be good results this year, we could think about repeating it in the future too.” Entrance is free.
