NOVI LIGURE – At just 27 years old she was included by Turin Book Fair in the short list of the best Italian bookmakers. The new one Francesca Tamburini, alias “Cesca”, has over 820 thousand followers on TikTok. “I come up with fun ways to get people to read. Many ask me for advice on what book to read, some even ask me they thank me for starting to read thanks to me“ he told Radio Gold “thanks to BookTok many creators talk about books, reading is back in fashion, especially among young people. Social media has great strength: conveying concepts in an immediate and simple way.”
“Cesca” created her account on the famous Chinese social network in 2019: “Today I am mainly followed by girls and boys between 13 and 14 years old, but also young adults. On Instagram, however, the average age rises slightly. I often use irony. As a genre of books I focus mainly on Fantasylast year I published my first book for Sperling & Kupfer entitled “The Guardian”. I also love the great classics. My favorites? Pride and Prejudice, Wuthering Heights or Dostoevsky’s books. I’m also part of an “online bookclub”: virtual places where we discuss books, it’s the first bookclub of the Repubblica insert, Robinson. Is titled The island of Cesca and Robinson. A very fun experience, there are even children as young as 11 years old. I have always been a lover of reading and since I opened my YouTube channel in 2016 I have often recommended books to read. Now my profiles have specialized on this topic”.
