A bookcase in the emergency room

A new book house was inaugurated, located in the waiting room of the emergency room and created thanks to the collaboration of the social cooperative ‘Global Village’ and the ‘Enrico Liverani’ library. The idea was born with the desire to lighten patients’ waiting by providing everyone in the room with the opportunity to read books, take them home with them but also donate their own. Word of mouth has been and will continue to be the most effective communication tool for creating and consolidating this network, born within the department itself and the hospital thanks to all the medical, nursing and health personnel who donated their books. The ‘Little free library’ was created thanks to the collaboration with Sara Santi, Roberta Vitali and the kids from the Magliette Gialle di San Pietro in Trento, using recycled materials and non-toxic colours. Heartfelt thanks from Dr. Andrea Strada, head of the emergency room, and from all those present at the inauguration to Sara Santi, Roberta Vitali and the boys of the Magliette Gialle di San Pietro in Trento for having created the bookcase with recycled materials and non-toxic colors and to the ‘Liverani’ library for enriching it with their books. Finally, thanks also to Dr. Federico Marchetti, head of the Ravenna Pediatrics Department, for providing all the children’s books inside the house.
