A grandiose painstaking work, which produced a volume of 558 pagescontaining more than 700 images, with captions and notes, which required almost three years of somewhat adventurous research, fraught with difficulties, especially of a bureaucratic and authorization nature. Accurate and specific visits to Ben were necessary 381 cemeteries (fractions are also included in the calculation) of Sardinia on 377 island municipalities. This is a volume which, as the author specifies on her presentation page, .

The volume in question represents a work susceptible to “ongoing improvements”, like all others, possibly due to further discoveries and specifications, but it is certainly a text that cannot be missing from any public library or private bookshop, whether managed by Local authorities, cooperatives, cultural associations, schools And University. A very valid and well-made reference point, even for simple art lovers or professionals in the sector (teachers, sculptors, architects, etc.), from which to start the discovery of this great plastic artist, who goes by the name of Giuseppe Maria Sartorio.

NOTES on the AUTHOR of the BOOK

Milvia Petta born in Cagliari in 1952, she lives in Capoterra, in the Residenza del Sole subdivision. From an early age she showed an early passion for photography. Her first camera was a simple Bencini Comet II with which, in the boom years of the Costa Smeralda, she documented the birth of the Porto Cervo complex. She moved on to 35 mm analog reflex cameras, in addition to color, she dedicated herself to the development and printing of black and white, setting up a sort of darkroom in the bathroom at home. Finally, the “conversion” to digital with two Canon camera bodies, one with a full frame sensor and the other with an APS-C sensor and with a set of lenses ranging from 17 mm wide angle to 200 mm telephoto. Her fields of interest range from travel reportage photos to landscape photos, from nature photos which also include macro photos, to urban contexts in which she searches for geometries, unusual points of view or details that may appear insignificant to others. Her maturation in the field of this visual art occurred by studying, in an analytical manner, the works of famous photographers and by applying in practice the suggestions contained in photographic technique texts. Lately you are very attracted to creative photography, in which you make extensive use of post-production to obtain unreal images, this theme will be one of the next projects that the author intends to carry out”.
