He told us that this edition of miart, the 28th of the fair and the fourth directed by him, will be the best in recent years Nicola Ricciardi, who inaugurates the first preview day under the claim no time, no space by Franco Battiato. Open to the public from 12 to 14 April 2024 at the Allianz MiCo in viale Scarampo – where MIA Photo Fair is also held on the same days -, the exhibition seems from the first hours to be faithful to expectations, from the number of foreign galleries present (such as Galerie Buchholz and Fortes D’Aloia & Gabriel – which participating for the first time – but also greengrassi, Galerie Tschudi, KOW and Galerie Neu) at new sections Portal And Timescapewhich investigate the contemporary and the more recent past, expanding the boundaries of the exhibition context and presenting the first (curated by Abaseh Mirvali) 8 real exhibitions, such as the solo shows of Franco Mazzucchelli and Francesco Gennari (whose work sees the collaboration between ZERO… and Ciaccia Levi), while the second (curated by the fair itself with a trans-historical and transversal approach) has a three-year planning and for this first year it will focus on the twentieth century – among the proposals, Medardo Rosso and Giacomo Manzù at the Galleria Gomiero and Umberto Boccioni at Bottegaantica – and then go further back through the centuries.

miart 2024. Museum works among the stands

On the morning dedicated to collectors and the press, the corridors of the Milanese exhibition quickly fill up, which this year appears airy and clean, more similar to Artissima and some high-level foreign fairs. And the reason is also the museum works presented by some exhibitors, such as Caribbean Tea Time Of David Hockney from Galerie Lelong & Co, le Combustions Of Alberto Burri exhibited by Tornabuoni Arte or the installation of Vivian Suter by kaufmann repetto. However, the works of artists that we will see in the lagoon from next week anticipate the Venice Art Biennale, from Louis Fratino (with Galerie Neu in Berlin) a Greta Schödl, Bertina Lopes And Xiyadie (by Richard Saltoun). Finally, the proposal of the emerging galleries that can be found immediately at the entrance to the fair is very convincing.
