It will be a “hot” May Angelina Mango. Our standard bearer atEurovision Song Contest 2024 is awaited not only by the continental festival and the events related to it – see the participation in the Eurovision Village on 7 May – but also by the publication of her first studio album “Poké melodrama” out on 31 May, and by a special version of “Boredom”.
The song that brought her to Malmö, first passing through the Sanremo triumph, will in fact also be published in Spanish version in the next few days, precisely the May 3. Angelina will not be alone in the interpretation but she will duet with Álvaro De LunaSpanish pop star with 7 platinum records under his belt.
For the Italian public that of Álvaro De Luna It’s not a new name. His single with more than 100 million streams on Spotify – “Juramento eterno de sal” – has been played on the radio in Italy and the artist originally from Seville held 3 concerts in our country last year – in Bologna, Rome and Milan – to present his latest album “Uno”.
Angelina Mango thus winks at the Spanish-speaking public in Europe and beyond. As regards theEurovision Song Contestthe Lucanian artist had already confirmed that she would perform the original version of the song in Italian.
Eurovision and Spanish: who before Angelina Mango
Angelina Mango she is not the first artist to release the Spanish version of her Eurovisual song. Going back over the years we find in fact Mahmood who in 2019 recorded not only the Spanish version of “Soldi”, in duet with Maikel Delacallebut also the one in English with Isaac Elliot.
For his second Eurovisual experience, in Turin paired with Blancothere was no version of “Brividi” for the foreign market but only the remix of the Italian DJs Meduza.
Our last representative, Marco Mengoni, released the French version of “Two Lives” in September, renamed “La dernière chanson” (The Last Song). Instead he translated “The essential” into Spanish, the following year his participation in theEurovision Song Contest 2013 of Malmö. “Incomparable”, this is the new title, was the forerunner of the EP “Pronto a corsa Spain”: the version of the album intended for the Iberian market.
Finally, honorable mention goes to another of the competitors of the Sanremo Festival 2024, Annalisa, who announced at a press conference at the Ariston Theater the arrival of a Spanish version of “Sincerely”. At the moment it has not yet seen the light, unlike the French version with Olivia Stone and the remix of Bob Sinclar.
