On 28 April the Police arrested two men from Verbania for kidnapping, in particular for having forced, by force, another 40-year-old man not to get out of the car, in which they had offered him a lift, and for beaten him with brutal violence, only to then abandon him on the road to Santino, in the province of Verbania.
On the morning of Sunday 28 April, after a phone call to the emergency number 112, the State Police cars reached the place where the man, shortly before, had asked for help, having been violently attacked by two men.
Promptly, the operator of the Operations Center, through geolocalization, managed to identify the position of the person requesting help in the town of Santino, and sent the State Police crews there.
In the meantime, the man was reached by 118 personnel and transported to hospital, where he was admitted following serious injuries to his head and face.
The collaboration of the victim was invaluable, as she immediately provided the names of the two attackers and some witnesses, who, having noticed the attacked person conversing with the two attackers during the evening in the center of Intra, then managed to provide them to the police descriptions and names.
The police officers, thanks to their in-depth knowledge of the area, were able to immediately link the names of the two attackers to two people from Verbania, uncle and nephew, who had offered the man a lift in the car in the early hours of the morning; passage accepted by the attacked.
Once they arrived near his home, the two men prevented the passenger from getting out of the car, and, having moved away from the center of Intra, they began to beat him and threaten him with death, leaving him seriously injured in the Santino hamlet.
The widespread and meticulous activity of the Police, carried out in the immediate aftermath of the facts, also led to the discovery of the car used by the two men for the kidnapping and which the two, once the criminal action had concluded, had parked in an area far from their homes. Inside the car the police had found large blood stains.
The uninterrupted activity of the patrol police, assisted by personnel from the Flying Squad and the Scientific Police, made it possible to crystallize indispensable elements for the reconstruction of what happened and to identify the two perpetrators of the kidnapping and beating, who are now confined at the Verbania Prison.
