TERMOLI. The gaze turns backwards, the memory ties together a logical thread and long moments of suffering, there is also that dark period, of the coma. 7 years have passed since, on 27 April 2017, Giulio, now 57 years old, then 50 years old, was involved in a road accident in Campania.
He lives in Termoli and is a diligent reader of ours, often offering us interesting food for thought. He chose to share his experience through Termolionline, today he is retired.
In these days so full of faith, Giulio wanted to recall his story. He was a passenger in the car with two other people who were more lightly injured. His life was in danger due to a serious head injury and he was intubated, placed in a pharmacological coma and underwent emergency surgery. An ordeal that lasted 5 months, where he was hospitalized in two different regions.
«On April 27, 7 years ago, as many know, a road accident occurred in which I was seriously involved.
Today, fortunately, I am still here, thanks to God I can “taste” with immense joy the wonders of the world, the depth of the sea, the sun reflecting on the water, the wind blowing, an ice cream, watching my daughters grow up, waiting a grandchild to be born.
Before I was “healthy” and I couldn’t get two minutes to do a simple walk, sport.
Today with 100 difficulties I use the pedal assisted bike, when I can I go for walks along the seafront, I use the motorbike even if I stay close to home, I drive the car.
I believe that all this, seen with certain eyes, can be called with one word, MIRACLE, as a miracle it could be when I was in a coma for a month and then fortunately I woke up.
Obviously I don’t expect everyone to think this way.
Life holds surprises for you even when you are already experiencing one, surprises that I’m not here to tell but those who know me know what I’m talking about.
I never thought I would get to this point and make these considerations, but I find it right to thank LIFE, splendid “being”.
LIFE is already a miracle.
