“Justice reform is a fundamental pillar of the reform plan” of the Meloni government. He is convinced of this leader of the M5S Giuseppe Conte, who spoke at the ANM national congress in Palermo. “It is a process of centralization and redistribution of powers in a top-down sense. “Some of these reform steps by the Government were anticipated in the democratic rebirth plan of P2. Today we are witnessing a rampant contamination between business and politics, from North to South. The conditions are being created for a new Tangentopoli. Politics must act everything to prevent and must bring out measures to clean up internally and avoid this degeneration and not let only judicial investigations, which are completely legitimate, occupy the field dignity. The judiciary must necessarily take its course but it must not be the judiciary alone that is subsequently concerned with these situations, he underlined, adding: “Our position is very clear on the separation of careers. We do not believe that the Italian model should be revised. It is a model that is proving to be virtuous. Career transitions are insignificant.”
“The conditions are being created for a new season of ‘Tangentolopoli’ throughout the national territory. And the majority is weakening the fight against white collar crimes”, he said, adding: “It is clear to everyone that the government, although supported by parties each of which expresses different positions, has found a point of balance. I immediately defined it as the ‘pactum sceleris’ (ed.’s pact of wickedness), because it is a compromise of power intended to guarantee the duration, the permanence of the Government in its own functions.
