The first official image of James Gunn’s Superman is already the subject of numerous memes online
Immediately after the release of the first image of Superman by James Gunnthe world of the web went wild with a shower of memes that targeted the pose and costume of David Corenswet.
What happens outside Superman’s window is certainly interesting. A colorful explosion rocks the Metropolis skyline, which Superman appears to ignore. Furthermore, it is guiltily reminiscent of the AI-generated images so popular online these days.
The DCEU has often been the subject of ridicule, resulting in all sorts of memes being created to mock it. Unfortunately, things don’t appear to have changed for the DCUas fans and the internet began changing the background – and even replacing Superman – to generate meme after meme.
Probably this one it’s not the answer DC Studios or Gunn were expecting, and while it’s unlikely to matter, given that a first confirmation of the film’s billing will only come with the first trailer, it’s not exactly the best start to a marketing campaign we’ve ever seen.
