As revealed by the very famous scooper My time to shine hello, for a story subsequently also confirmed by Empire City, the rated-r film by Tom Cruise and Christopher McQuarrie will be a remake of The Man in the Crosshairs, the 1977 cult film directed by and starring Clint Eastwood: according to rumors, filming should begin in early 2025, after the duo has finished work on Mission: Impossible 8, currently in production after the long stops caused by the Hollywood strikes.
But that’s not all: apparently, the co-star of the film will be none other than Scarlett Johansson: In the original film, Clint Eastwood played a police officer tasked with escorting a prostitute to Las Vegas to testify against the mafia, and in the remake the Marvel star will play the key witness. Curiously, last year Scarlett Johansson declared that one of his great dreams was to work with Tom Cruise, an interview to which the Top Gun star responded by praising his colleague’s acting skills: “I would love to make a film with her. He has enormous talent. So charismatic, versatile.”
