A few weeks after the first concept art of the Avatar park for Disneyland, the director and screenwriter James Cameron has revealed a new image taken from Avatarsthe next film in his famous science fiction saga arriving in cinemas around the world on December 18, 2025.
Speaking to the popular Konbini YouTube channel, Avatar 3 director James Cameron shared new information about a previously unseen creature from Pandora that will appear in the upcoming Avatar films: on the occasion of the exhibition entitled “The Art of James Cameron” in Paris, the author showed a concept art describing in detail this new animal, a sort of giant jellyfish capable of flying whose design also recalls ‘the leaves of Eywa’ seen several times throughout Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water.
“This handsome guy…” said James Cameron about Pandora’s Medusa. “Some of these ideas will actually emerge in ‘Avatar 3’ and ‘Avatar 4’, do you know? So I wouldn’t say it’s really a spoiler, maybe it’s more of a teaser, right?“James Cameron referred to the creature simply by calling it ‘Medusa’, also revealing that this concept in particular (which you can admire at the bottom of the article) dates back to a very early draft of Avatar from 1995 entitled “Project 880”.
