This is the press release issued by ‘Un Borgo di Libri’:

“GIOVANNI GRASSO PRESENTS THE NEW NOVEL “NO ONE SEES LOVE” AT A VILLAGE OF EXTRA BOOKS

Monday 13 May, from 6pm, in the Caserta Seminar Library, in Piazza Duomo, preview with Daniela Borrelli, Renato Iaselli, Mariapina Fontana, Arianna Quarantotto and Gianni Aversano

Every Tuesday afternoon, for exactly one hour, in an anonymous provincial bar, Silvia secretly meets a charming stranger. He reveals every detail about her relationship with Federica, Silvia’s sister who died a few days ago in a suspected car accident. She, in exchange, promised not to research the identity of her mysterious interlocutor. But is the story of that nameless man really reliable? Until what point – we read in the press release – can Silvia trust him? The search for the truth is a surprising and painful path, which will lead Silvia to face a tangle of absolute loves and power games, in a world in which it is increasingly difficult to delimit the boundary between innocence and guilt. This is the meaning of «No one sees love», the latest novel by Giovani Grasso, published by Rizzoli and presented as an absolute preview at «Un borgo di libri – Extra», the literary spin-off of «Un borgo of Books | September in the Village” – we read again – which lasts all year and which in recent months has brought authors of the caliber of Dacia Maraini to Caserta. This time it is the turn of the journalist and writer Giovanni Grasso, advisor for the press and communications of the President of the Republic and Director of the press office of the Presidency of the Republic since February 2015, as well as the recent winner of the prestigious “Good News Award” for journalism. «No one sees love» will be presented on Monday 13 May, from 6pm, in the Library of the Episcopal Seminary of Caserta, in Piazza Duomo, 11, by Daniela Borrelli, Renato Iaselli, Mariapina Fontana, Arianna Quarantotto and Gianni Aversano, who will curate «the sentimental introduction» in music of the meeting. The mayor Carlo Marino will bring greetings from the city – continues the press release – and the president of the Rotary Club «Caserta Terra di Lavoro», Vincenzo Iorio, will also speak. The readings will be entrusted to Fabiana Giaquinto, Nicola Alessandro Tebano and Antonio Bonagura. «We took the opportunity to have Giovanni Grasso as a guest for his first ever presentation in Campania of the new novel – explains Luigi Ferraiuolo, director of «Un Borgo di Libri» – Let’s try to build initiatives that bring quality moments of reflection to the South both literary and non-fiction. We try not to limit ourselves to just the summer period, even though most of our work is voluntary and resources are scarce. Every small achievement is a great success for us, as happened with the arrival of Dacia Maraini last March.” In the novel we play with the invisibility of love and kindness, seen with suspicion or even not seen. The themes covered are also those of mistrust and knowledge, in a world where we are all friends, and therefore we are essentially alone. «No one sees love» is a ruthless investigation into the authentic meaning of existence – we read again – starting from Saint Augustine, who forces us to go in front of the mirror, eye to eye, with the darkest part of us, and asks us about the need to forgive and forgive ourselves.
