The government is considering an amendment to the cohesion-work decree, under discussion in the Senate, to extend the allowance for former TCT workers in the ports of Taranto and Gioia Tauro until December 2024. This represents a significant step towards protecting the rights and economic security of dockworkers.
Dario Iaia, deputy of Fratelli d’Italia and president of FdI Taranto, underlined that the government, through the Ministries of Labor and Infrastructure, is working on the amendment. Thanks to this initiative, skilled workers will receive ongoing financial support, giving them the time necessary to find stable work solutions.
Regarding the issue of the dock workers of Gioia Tauro, Francesca Frachea, group leader councilor of Fratelli d’Italia in the Municipality of Gioia Tauro, had involved the MEP Denis Nesci, who activated an institutional synergy with deputies and senators of Fratelli d’Italia to find a concrete solution.
Frachea expresses satisfaction with this prospect, seeing in the extension a clear signal of commitment towards the protection of port workers and their financial well-being.
This institutional collaboration highlights the importance of working together to find real solutions for port workers, creating a climate of trust and optimism. The objective remains to provide concrete opportunities in the ports of Taranto and Gioia Tauro, allowing these workers to return to the world of work with stability and satisfaction.
