Rebirth of the Peppino Impastato Garden in Turin

Turin recently inaugurated the renovated Peppino Impastato Garden. This green space in Largo Sempione has undergone a real transformation, becoming a welcoming and functional place for all residents and visitors.

Retraining

The project financed with Pon-Metro funds was carried out with the aim of improving the accessibility and usability of the green area. Among the main interventions, the following stand out:

New Play Areas for All Ages

The garden now boasts three distinct play areaseach designed for a different age group. From toddlers to teenagerseveryone will be able to find a dedicated space to have fun and play safely.

The transformed fountain

One of the most interesting new features is the conversion of the former fountain into a water-themed play area. On the hottest days, children will be able to cool off and play with water, making the park even more welcoming.

Football field

Where it was previously located skating ringa new structure was built for football field. Sports enthusiasts will thus have a dedicated space to train and have fun.

Greater permeability and new vegetation

The redevelopment intervention also aimed to improve theenvironmental aspect of the garden. In fact, the presence of waterproof floorsfavoring the natural drainage of rainwater. Furthermore, they were planted 24 new treeswhich will offer more shaded areas and help create a cooler and more regenerating environment.

New furnishings

To complete the transformation, they were carried out maintenance interventions on wooden benches and installed new elements of urban furniture, such as seats and waste bins. Measures that make the Peppino Impastato Garden a more welcoming and functional space for all those who frequent it.

Role of institutions

The inauguration ceremony of the renovated garden was attended by the Green Councilor of the City of Turin, Francesco Tressoand the president of the 6th district, Valerio Lomanto. This involvement of local institutions underlines the importance attributed to this redevelopment project, which aims to improve the quality of life of Turin’s citizens.
