The “Martin Luther King” Comprehensive Institute, led by the Director Professor Daniela Rizzotto, participated on May 9, 2024, in the School Sports Competitions in the Municipal 5-a-side Football Competitions organized at the PalaMilan stadium in Caltanissetta, with the Cadet Category Men’s Team (2010/2011). The first match was very close; towards the end the team conceded two goals which led to the defeat. The only goal was scored by Roberto Massaro with a deep run down the flank and a right-footed goal into the opposite corner. In the second match, however, Martin Luther King defended very well and scored two goals, one from an action by Roberto Massaro and one from a penalty converted by Rosario Meduri; however, the victory took place on penalties given the draw in regulation minutes, thanks to the conversion of the last penalty from the spot by Gianluca Lombardo and the decisive save by goalkeeper Salvatore Giordano. The other penalties were scored by Roberto Massaro, Rosario Meduri, Nicolò Timo, Mattia Roman, Andrea Riggi. Professors Maria Teresa Cordova and Claudio Piccini who selected and accompanied the students to this event say they are very satisfied with the goals achieved, but above all for the commitment and seriousness that their students have shown. The participating students are: Salvatore Giordano, Roberto Massaro, Nicolò Timo, Mattia Roman, Rosario Meduri, Samuele Piazza, Andrea Riggi, Calogero Ventura, Gianluca Lombardo, Giuseppe Lopiano.
