Bologna Wine Week. The glasses return to the center

Raise your glasses, Bologna Wine Week is about to return. After last year’s debut – in which 10 thousand visitors were able to discover the new city format which combines the pleasure of wine with moments of meeting with experts in the sector and beyond – from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th May Piazza Minghetti will once again become the evocative showcase for regional and national wine excellences. There are twenty-five wineries from Emilia-Romagna, but also from the rest of the country, which will present around a hundred wines to wine lovers during the event, which this year extends over five days.

In fact, we start already on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th with a new formula: it is Enoteca BWW, in the setting of Palazzo Isolani, with sponsor classes reserved for sector operators and guided tastings open to the public. An invitation-only opening party will then follow on Wednesday evening to officially launch the second edition of the event. From Friday 17th to Sunday, here is the highlight in Piazza Minghetti, where – underlines the creator Gian Marco Gabarello of the Enoteca Ebrezze in via Castiglione – those tastings not always so accessible to the general public outside of the fairs, will be at the center of the three days in the heart of the city.

Going into more detail about the event, on Friday it starts at 3pm and continues until 9pm, while on Saturday and Sunday the event takes place between midday and 11pm (at 9pm on the last day). As always, live concerts are scheduled in the evenings in the square: on Friday at 8.30 pm here is the soulful voice of Hallyx – Alessandra Arcangeli and on Saturday with the ensemble featuring Guglielmo Pagnozzi on the clarinet. The talks are also back on 18 and 19 May, starting at 5.30pm (the complete calendar will be revealed in the next few days). And if in the square, in addition to the winery stands, the presence of three food trucks to accompany the tastings is to be expected for this edition, the token formula remains unchanged, to also receive the shoulder strap with the glass. And so the tour of Italy in the glass can really begin.

To always stay up to date and get some previews of the wineries present, it is already possible to follow the Bologna Wine Week Instagram page and subscribe to the newsletter to receive all the necessary information or connect to the site to discover the program and purchase the tasting kit online, which include a branded glass, a glass holder strap and tokens to savor the wines being tasted.
