The winning team of the Intesa Sanpaolo Nations Cup of the 91st international show jumping horse show in Piazza di Siena, which will be held in Rome from 22 to 26 May, will also have a stay in the Marche region as a prize. A further initiative by the Region to promote the territory in the renewed partnership with the Fise (Italian Equestrian Sports Federation) for the prestigious event which, in the words of the Fise president, Marco Di Paola, is to horse riding what Wimbledon is to tennis, and will bring the global elite of the sector at Villa Borghese between art, design and sustainable zero-impact architecture. In this environment, with knights and guests from the international jet set, the Marche wants to make known its beauty and food and wine goodness. Already last year, it was said at the presentation in Ancona by the governor Francesco Acquaroli, the president Fise Di Paola and the director of Atim, Marco Bruschini, the Marche had left their mark with delicacies and wines, judging also by the number of bottles uncorked, 2,772. This year too, the region will have the opportunity to present its excellent products, including wines, at the gala dinner on May 25th, which will be attended by Minister Lollobrigida, for an audience of very high-level guests. Also present at the presentation in Ancona were Simone Perillo (Fise general secretary), Maria Grazia Cecchini (Fise councilor), Gabriella Moroni, president of the Fise regional committee, and Simone Panichi, of the organizing committee of the Città di Ascoli horse racing competition, which will be held from 20 to 22 September. During the meeting in the Chamber of Commerce, Acquaroli awarded three young riders: Aurora Novelli, Elena Carpano and Valentina Marini. The best combinations of horses and riders on the circuit will be on display in Piazza di Siena for four days, until Sunday 26th with the Rolex Series. There are 18 participating nations and there is great Italian and foreign media coverage for the event. The Marche region, Acquaroli said, aims to have a great impact with its products. “We are proud and happy to continue on this path – he added –, the invitation is to share an event of the highest quality”. “The competition in Piazza di Siena – Bruschini recalled – has always been there and lives on regardless of who goes. It is loved by Romans and international guests”. The director of Atim said that the Marche wines were also appreciated by “Mister Rolex”, who defined them as “excellent”. “Those who went to Piazza di Siena took the Marche region into their hearts – he explained – and discovered its excellence: it is the great showcase for the region”.
