The work of the “FIS Spring Meetings” opened on Sunday in Portoroz, Slovenia, i.e. the traditional meeting of the Technical Committees, Subcommittees, Athletes Commission and Executive Board of the FIS, for all the disciplines managed by the international federation.

Today the Alpine Skiing Committee met to discuss the calendars for the next edition: ASIVA, the FISI committee of Val d’Aosta, officially announced that the ‘3 – Franco Berthod’ slope of La Thuile will return to host the World Cup, precisely on 15 and 16 March 2025 with a super-G and a downhill.

La Thuile has already hosted the top circuit on two occasions: in the 2015/2016 season and in 2019/2020.
For the first time, two downhill runs and a super-G will be held: the first on 19 February 2016 won by the Swiss Lara Gut Behrami, the second by the Italian Nadia Fanchini and in the Super-G Tina Weirather won.
In 2020 Federica Brignone was second in the super-G, one hundredth of a second behind Nina Ortlieb, while the combined event on March 1st was canceled due to heavy snow.

In recent years we have worked in this direction, organizing high-level competitions to continue to grow from a technical, organizational and logistical point of view and be ready – explains the President of the Piccolo San Bernardo cable cars to AostaSera Daniele Collombpresent in Slovenia together with Dante Berthod and the mayor Mathieu Ferraris – We have always believed in it, and this is the culmination of our dream.
We didn’t expect to be there already in 2025, but we are super happy and ready. Now we start working straight away, there are many things to do
.”

The words of the President of the Region, Renzo Testolinand the councilors Luigi Bertschy and Giulio Grosjacques collected by ANSA: “This is a confirmation of the great organizational skills and professionalism demonstrated on previous occasions. The entire region finds itself a prestigious international showcase which rewards the efforts made in recent years by the entire Aosta Valley community and, in particular, by the La Thuile area which has already demonstrated that it has all it takes to host the major events of the White circus“.
