PIOMBINO. It’s a podium for the Cadette team of Atletica Piombino while the equal grades of the Atletica Costa Etrusca youth club placed immediately behind them, in fourth place. For the club of Cecina, Rosignano, San Vincenzo and Venturina, however, things went better than their rivals as regards the Cadets: those of the Etruscan Coast came sixth, while the Piombino men’s team placed tenth. However, these are excellent results obtained by the two clubs from the Livorno coast on the third day of the club championships which took place in recent days in Pistoia. The fourth day of the competition will be held on May 18th in Massa, where the bearers of the two teams will certainly still be protagonists.

Athletics Piombino

Among the Cadettes, Giada Regoli won both the 80 meter race and the long jump. The progress of the athlete followed by Francesca Quilici is evident as she has improved her basic speed: Regoli ran the 80 meters in 10″2, lowering her personal best by 2 tenths. In the long jump she found the winning leap with the measurement of 5.28 metres. Giulia Bianconi, after the 80 meter race which was run slightly below her standards (she still finished in fourth place), made up for it in the 150 meters where she came second with 19.5. Alice Sainati did not miss the victory in the shot put with the measurement of 10.32 meters, very close to her personal best of 10.47 meters. She then tried her hand at the long jump, achieving a good 4.64 metres. Viola Gazzarri ran the 80 meters with a personal best of 11”3 and then in the long run she achieved 4.13 metres. Finally Diego Austeri first ran the 80 floors in 10″4 and then the 1,000 meters in 3’25″0.

Etruscan Coast

The Costa Etrusca Athletics Club confirms itself as a nursery above all for excellent hurdlers. This is confirmed by the second place overall conquered by Nazareno Parodi in the 300 hurdles with 42″0 and so is the victory in the women’s field by Mia Griselli (again in the 300 hurdles, where Alessandra Micheletti came third) with the excellent time of 46″ 9 which places Erika Ferri’s student currently in seventh position in Italy. All the young athletes (Bahiti, Barbera, Cerundolo, Colla, Griselli, Lassi, Micheletti, Pozzi, Pietrelli, Santarnecchi, Sestini and Togna) and the athletes (Esposito, Monelli, Parodi, Pellegrinetti, Rizzieri and Sabato) gave their contribution in terms of scores for Sonia Falchetti’s company.
