Last November, two people apparently approached the car of Andrea Giambruno, the former partner of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, during the night in Rome, but they were stopped by an officer who was on surveillance outside the president’s home of the Council. The newspaper ‘Domani’ writes this, according to which the two told the policeman that they were ‘colleagues’, also showing a badge before getting back into their car and leaving without being identified. The newspaper claims that the Digos and the hierarchical ladder up to the head of the Police Vittorio Pisani and the Minister of the Interior Matteo Piantedosi were informed of the affair. From the investigations carried out it would initially emerge that the two men, who had a torch with them, were two agents of the AISI, the internal secret service agency, and in particular of Meloni’s escort. According to what the newspaper reports, she was also informed of the fact at the capital’s prosecutor’s office. From the intelligence investigation, a few months later, however, another conclusion was reached: the two men who approached Giambruno’s car that night were in reality two fences, perhaps interested in what was of value in that vehicle. machine and not agents intent on planting bugs or anything else.
The undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council, Alfredo Mantovano, intervened on the matter, stating that “the investigations carried out for the intelligence part have made it possible with certainty to exclude the involvement of members of the Services, and that the safety of President Meloni has never been was placed at risk. I reported – as delegated authority for the security of the Republic – in my last hearing at Copasir on 4 April about the episode which occurred while Meloni was engaged in a mission abroad”.
