This is what Filomena Greco, president of the Women’s Coordination of Cariati, declared in recent days of the highly successful fifth edition of “Jurinfest” hosted in the Historic Centre, underlining the extraordinary social and pedagogical message which once again – she says – has made a distinctive and qualifying event a manifestation of great beauty and pride that now belongs to the entire Cariatese community.
Greco thanks everyone who guaranteed the perfect success of the event, which resumed this year after the Spring break of 2023, because it coincided with the administrative electoral campaign and was interrupted only during the Covid emergency period.
«A special thanks – explains the president of the Women’s Coordination – goes to the whole world of the city school which was the real protagonist of this 2024 edition dedicated to the word VITA: from the schools Comprehensive directed by Alessandro Turano with the teachers Rosetta Graziano, Carmela Fazio , Giulia Frontera, Patrizia Fazio, Liliana Faragò and Rosaria Scarlato; at high schools directed by Sara Giulia Aiello and teacher Filomena Flotta.
The collaboration of the Sarepta Cooperative, led by Valeria Santangelo and the contribution of Graziella Falbo together with all the educators and operators who coordinated the unaccompanied minors, hosted in the structure of the former Episcopal Seminary and who offered extraordinary help, was also invaluable. for the excellent success of the event.
Just as important was the help of the Agorà Kroton Cooperative, chaired by Gregorio Mungari Cutruzzolà, which manages the Sprar Project (Protection system for asylum seekers and refugees) of Cariati with the contribution of Francesca Benevento who coordinated all the operators and guests of the Sprar.

To the success of this new, beautiful and joyful flower festival in the Citadel, with circles of colored flowers in via Roma towards Piazza Rocco Trento, a carpet of daisies in the San Leonardo climb and the trees covered with crochet tiles in the square of Annunziata and on the Torrione della Spezieria with the crocheted tapestry, the many carpentry shops and bars of the city also contributed by donating sawdust and placing coffee to create the drawings on the ground, the flower display workshops organized in schools, the exhibiting artists and the partnership of Scintille Montesanto of Cosenza, Trony, iGreco and Valle Suite of Cariati.
