AGRIGENTO – 500 thousand euro intervention on the roads in Agrigento, following a loan provided by the Civil Protection department of the Sicilian Region. The financing concerned the “First urgent civil protection interventions following the exceptional meteorological events of 2018”.
The surgery after years of waiting
After years of waiting, therefore, we will proceed in Agrigento with the restoration of the road surface and the recovery of the walls of the buildings via Cavaleri Magazzeni, Serraferlicchio and degli Ulivi. Mayor, Francesco Miccichècomments: “This is another important intervention that allows us to improve road safety, to protect the entire community”.
Miccichè: “We need infrastructure”
Miccichè then adds: “We continue to work in the interests of Agrigento, which is preparing to become the Italian Capital of Culture 2025, and which also needs to infrastructural and urban works intended to reduce all forms of discomfort and to make our ‘business card’ more attractive. I thank our representatives at the Sicilian Region for their collaboration, President Schifani for his constant support and engineer Cocina for the opportunity granted”.
The councilor: “Intervention on the streets”
And the councilor for public works, Gerlando Principality, adds: “News that we welcome with enthusiasm. It will be possible to start the works, to be completed by 2024, on municipal roads that have long been left in a state of abandonment. We will strive to limit the inconvenience to the inhabitants of the areas involved in the works as much as possible, hoping for the understanding and collaboration of the citizens”.
