New appointment with Lungomare Fest on Sunday 21 April and another closure to vehicular traffic on the Lungomare di Catania, from 10.00 to 19.00, from Piazza Europa to Piazza Mancini Battaglia, in the name of sport, culture and solidarity. An event that next Sunday is also destined to attract thousands of citizens to spend time in the open air on foot, by bike or on scooters, in the spectacular rocky seafront of Catania, as already happened on Sunday 7 April, when thirty thousand presences were recorded during of the day. Among the attractions, an inflatable football pitch for the entertainment of children which will be set up in Via del Rotolo, while on the pavement of the seafront from Piazza Franco Battiato (formerly Nettuno) to just before Piazza del Tricolore, they will be stationed with the now traditional craft markets.
In Piazza del Tricolore there will be an auto-book for the promotion and exchange of books and a gazebo of the San Marco Voluntary Blood Donors association, to raise awareness among citizens about blood donation and one organized by the non-profit association “L’ Natalia’s Ark”, aimed at respecting animals. There will also be decoupage stands and displays of paintings by various authors and a “Book Therapy” station curated by Cono Cinquemani. Also unmissable at the Lungomare Fest, from 11.30 am to 1.00 pm, are the swing dances (Lindy Hop, Charleston, Balboa, Shag and Slow Bal) organized by the “Sicily In Swing” school.
Near the seafront area, the Municipal Administration has also arranged a plan of temporary corrections to the road system for next Sunday, with the aim of encouraging a reduction in vehicular traffic. In detail, one-way traffic will be established on Via De Gasperi, from the Sant’Agata/Rotolo roundabout to Via Borgetti, to allow flow towards Via Messina and through Via Grasso Finocchiaro, to be able to enter Via Principe Nicola. The Municipal Administration recommends that citizens go to Lungomare Fest using public transport, Bus/Metro and that those traveling by car leave it in parking places as far away as possible from the event, which is advisable to reach on foot or by car. bicycle.
