To the Turin Book Fairwhere the analyzes of the research office of the Italian Publishers Association were presented based on Nielsen BookScan data and other sources (here the details, ed), the top ten for the beginning of 2024 was also made known, where nine out of ten titles are by Italian authors!
In the first four months of 2024, data in hand, as also noted by the AIE “Italian authorship gains shares and grows in contrast to the market average.” Out of 445.3 million euros of cover price sales in physical and digital bookstores (large-scale distribution is excluded here), 250.2 million are books by Italian authors (+1.3% compared to 2023), 195.1 million euros are for books by foreign authors (-5.6%).
